Due to massive deforestation, slash and burn and the increasing development, the largest wetland area on earth – the Pantanal – is severely threatened.
The preservation of the tropical forests in the Pantanal is a prerequisite for the survival of this unique ecosystem.
Through education and cooperation with the local population, the establishment of foundations and structures against slash and burn, as well as political lobbying at the administrative and
government level, protection is to be improved. The protected areas already declared by the Bolivian state (RAMSAR- Convention) are enforced.
