In an area at risk of destruction in Laos, a piece of strategically important tropical forest is to be protected thanks to purchase and management (eco - tourism). The threat affects the banks of the Namtam River. The Boat Landing Guesthouse operated by William Tuffin, which is committed to protecting the area on site and is responsible of the implementation of the project. It is a classic eco – tourism project. Only if the landscape is of value to the local population can it be sustainably protected. 1,000 tourists a year already help to preserve the area worth preserving this way.
